MRS Thyer - 3T
Welcome to our class page. We hope you enjoy seeing some of the wonderful things that the Year 3 children have been doing this term.
Poetry with andy tooze
We spent a fantastic day with local poet Andy Tooze and illustrator Martin. We wrote some amazing poems about 'friends' and 'school' and then we bravely read them out to Year 4! Martin taught us how to draw faces and x-ray pictures. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and now will use our new skills in other subjects.
Science week in year 3
We had a fantastic time working with a forensic scientist on a crime scene as part of National Science Week. We loved being detectives and searching for clues to solve a burglary. Eventually by using scientific evidence we managed to identify the thief!
World Book Day
We had great fun dressing up as book characters for World Book Day!
Our Class wordle!
Year 3 have been learning about the Bible and how it is used. They created a class Wordle using their own choice of words, which they felt described what the Bible means to Christians.
Our Ancient Egyptian Topic
Our Curriculum event was extremely popular! The classroom was full of parents and grandparents. The children sang a gruesome song about how to make a mummy and then became the teachers as they showed their guests how to create their own Cartouche. A great way to end our Ancient Egyptian topic.
What a great Autumn Term! Here are some of the activities we got up to.
Our Winter Wonderland Performance
We wowed everyone with our snow themed songs, facts and poetry.
Autumn Watch - ARTWORK
We worked in our groups to create our stunning Autumn leaf litter artwork. We hope you like them.
our visit to Grin Low Wood.
Our first trip out this year! A fascinating walk around Grin Low Wood finding out about how the wood provides
habitats for plants and animals as well as being a brilliant place for humans to enjoy the local countryside.
