a MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD
A warm welcome to Fairfield Endowed CofE (C) Junior School from Mrs Mercer, Headteacher
I am enormously proud to be the Headteacher of Fairfield Endowed Church of England (C) Junior School, here in Fairfield. Over the past three years, the pupils, parents and staff have helped move the school from strength to strength. Our School is a Church of England (Controlled) day school for children between the ages of 7 and 11. We have a special relationship with St Peter's Church and value the links we have with the church community. We benefit from being able to apply for funds from the Trustees of Fairfield Endowed School Trust, to help in our work. We have high expectations of every child and these aspirations have shaped our vision for the school and have led us to adopt our school motto, 'Happy. Proud. Successful', which aims to celebrate team work and individual achievement within a Christian foundation. We enjoy close relationships with parents who play a vital role in child development and our school vision reflects the aspirations we have for the whole school community: To produce happy, proud and successful children and families, encouraging life-long learning throughout the community. We’re very proud of the range of subjects our children have access to throughout their time here. Our curriculum is firmly focused on mastering the basic skills in literacy and numeracy and applying them throughout the wider curriculum. We teach French, swimming, and have specialist teaching in drumming, playing the ukulele and in the sports curriculum. We want to bring out the best in every child! Our staff are a dedicated team of professionals with many skills, which enable us to provide pupils with a vast array of wider learning experiences such as learning to play musical instruments, becoming competent artists, excelling in sports or even learning how to live and learn outside of the classroom with our Forest Schools program. We also provide many after school clubs such as dance, Minecraft, guitar, science, athletics and newspaper club. We even provide free wrap around care for working parents between 8am and 5.30 daily. It’s important to recognise our community’s needs! We encourage the pupils to have a voice through the School Council on the day to day running of the school as well as through aspects of the curriculum such as PSHE and RE. We take a great deal of pride in developing good behaviour for learning and have a reward system in school to encourage personal growth and team work. We want our children to grow into confident, resilient adults who believe they can succeed. There’s so much to offer, your child will have a great time here! Best wishes, Mrs. Mercer. |
