November 2018
We formed an eco-council with some Y3 and Y4 children and started working towards our bronze eco award. Questionnaires about healthy lifestyles, global thinking and saving energy were carried out.
October 2018
We organised a poster competition to promote 'keeping our school tidy' to address concerns about litter in the playground. A rota of volunteer litter pickers has also been produced. We noted that the parking of bikes and scooters was also an issue and have been around the classes asking the children to park respectfully. Mrs Mercer and the school have invested in metal traffic policeman/woman as reminders for motorists to take care around the school. These are put out every morning and afternoon by the road near the front gate. We also helped Miss Stein by filling the new garden troughs with compost - ready for bulb planting.
